1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of CTCtruth (“CTCtruth”, “we”, “us”), an independent project run by an individual. By using the website or creating an account, you agree to them. If you use CTCtruth for a company, you confirm you may accept these terms on its behalf. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
2. The service
- For candidates: a free tool that estimates take-home pay, tax and deductions from an offer. It runs in your browser and needs no account.
- For recruiters: a portal to create, send and track offers and to answer candidate questions. It will need an account, and some features a paid plan.
Recruiter accounts and paid plans aren’t available yet. Sections 4, 5 and 7 apply once they launch. Until then you can try the recruiter demo, which keeps everything in your browser.
We keep improving CTCtruth. Features may change, and features marked “coming soon” may arrive later than planned or in a different form.
3. Estimates, not advice
CTCtruth’s figures are estimates based on the information you enter, the assumptions shown next to each result, and Indian tax rules as we understand them for the stated financial year. Your actual salary, deductions and tax can differ. CTCtruth does not give tax, legal, financial or investment advice. For decisions that depend on exact figures, check your offer with your employer and a qualified tax professional.
4. Recruiter accounts
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password private. You’re responsible for activity under your account and your team’s accounts.
- Tell us straight away at contact@ctctruth.com if you think your account has been misused.
5. Recruiter responsibilities
When you use the recruiter portal, you are responsible for:
- the accuracy of the offers you create and send;
- having a lawful basis, under the DPDP Act and other applicable law, to add candidates’ personal data and send them offers;
- answering candidates’ questions honestly and following employment law that applies to you.
For candidate data you add to the portal, your company decides how it’s used, and we process it on your instructions.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t use CTCtruth to:
- break the law or anyone’s rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights;
- send misleading or fraudulent offers;
- upload malware, probe or overload our systems, or get around security or usage limits;
- copy, scrape or resell the service without our written permission.
7. Plans, fees and billing
- Plan prices and limits are shown on the pricing page. Prices are in Indian rupees, per recruiter, and exclude GST, which we add at the applicable rate.
- You can pay monthly, or yearly at a discount. Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and then won’t renew.
- If we change prices, we’ll tell account holders at least 30 days before the change applies to them.
8. Ownership
CTCtruth, its design, software and content belong to its author unless stated otherwise. You keep ownership of the content you add, such as your offer templates and messages, and you give us permission to host and process it only to provide the service to you. Please don’t republish substantial parts of the site without permission. CTCtruth uses the Inter typeface under the SIL Open Font License, Lucide icons under the ISC licence, and open-source libraries under their own licences.
9. Disclaimers and liability
CTCtruth is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that estimates will match your final pay.
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on estimates. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000 if you haven’t paid us anything. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using CTCtruth and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or our systems at risk. Where reasonable, we’ll warn you first and give you a chance to export your data.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of India.
12. Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top, and tell account holders about significant changes by email. Questions? Write to contact@ctctruth.com.
